Growing up in Greene County, Arkansas, gave FFB’s Chief Lending Officer Shelli Wilson a front-row seat for rice and soybean production. It also provided her with a great appreciation for those who put food on our tables. Shelli spent her teenage years working for the local farm supply store in Delaplaine, but now enjoys the numbers and financial analysis involved in each loan she makes. “I love the interaction with my customers and get satisfaction from helping them and the community prosper”, she stated.

Leading the lending team in Northeast Arkansas, her background in risk management helps with decision making and the team’s ‘family dynamic’ helps ensure that everyone works together to take care of each other and our customers.  “It’s important for me to work with people of good moral character”, she said.  “At FFB, our employees, our management and our board exhibit these qualities every day in their service to our customers and stakeholders.”

When asked what she enjoys most about working with customers, she stated “I enjoy listening to them talk about their day and their business, the good and the bad.  I love talking with self-made successful people.  I’m fascinated by their practices, ethics, and thought processes.”

The three words that she thinks others would use to describe her are: Witty, kind, and “math nerd”. She and her husband, Rob, are the proud parents of two daughters, McKenzie and Karli. When not working, Shelli enjoys traveling and reading.

Since 1989, Betty Kate Thompson has been serving bank customers in Woodruff County, Arkansas although not all of them still reside there.  “I have long-standing customer relationships with folks from all over the United States who still bank here”, she relates.  “From the Tennessee woman who delivered newspapers during my childhood to a Georgetown University professor with Woodruff County roots – these relationships are so special.”

“I’m very detail oriented and I think that helps me appreciate what’s unique about each of my customers.  I’m never too busy to stop what I’m doing to visit with them.  One of my favorite things is going out for crop inspections with the farmers.  Having that one-on-one time bouncing along in a pickup truck with them is priceless!” she emphasized.

Since becoming part of the FFB family, Thompson has been impressed with the employees and management team.  “Whether I pick up the phone to talk to Kathy in Louisville, KY, Brad in Carthage, MS, Chris in Little Rock, AR, or our CEO in El Dorado, AR – I still feel the warmth and friendliness that I’ve known growing up in McCrory”, she stated.

She currently serves as the Vice-President of Commercial Lending in McCrory, AR and is a life-long resident of McCrory.  Previous jobs with attorneys, judges, and state politicians help her communicate comfortably in any professional situation.  Board Member of ARCare, she also serves as President of the McCrory Area Chamber of Commerce and McCrory Industrial Development Corporation, and is Chairman of the Woodruff County Health Center and the advisory committee for the Woodruff County Economic Development Commission.

Betty Kate enjoys entertaining family and friends and “stomping around the duck woods” with her husband and their golden retriever, Scarlett.  When not at work, she loves to read, play piano, needlepoint, and travel.  She and her husband enjoy spending time with family, especially five children ages 4 to 11 that they are blessed to call grandchildren.  When asked for three words people would use to describe her, she said “caring, positive, and loyal”.

In her role as a VP of Commercial Lending, Andrea Taegtmeyer enjoys getting to know people from all walks of life.  “I have so many different customers and they are all unique in their own way.   I enjoy getting to know them and learning more about their lives”, she stated.  “One of my frequent customers told me that I was one of the most important people in their life.  That lets me know that I am taking care of my customers”.

Andrea and the team at First Financial Bank work hard to meet the needs of their customers and she credits a good team environment for helping things go smoothly.  “Everyone is hard-working and has an important role in the process”, she said.  Many of her customers are involved in agriculture, an industry she has considerable knowledge of, having worked for USDA’s Farm Service Agency in a lending role for fifteen years.

When she’s not helping customers, Andrea can be found helping in her community.  She’s the secretary for Downtown Revitalization and the president of the local Rotary Club, and she volunteers frequently with them.  Individually, she does a “Bus Stop” snack program on Friday afternoons, handing out snacks to kids in a low-income neighborhood as they get off the bus.  She enjoys spending time with her family, deer hunting, fishing, and going to the lake.   When asked what three words people would use to describe her, Andrea said “dedicated, efficient, and knowledgeable”.

For almost a decade, the folks in Harrisburg have come to rely on Zac Price for their lending needs. In his role as Retail Market President-Harrisburg, Zac has helped businesses of all sizes reach their goals with financial resources that work for them – not a ‘one size fits all’ approach. He’s always wanted to work in his hometown and help people he’s known all his life and says his job at FFB provides just that.

One of the things he loves about being a lender is when people call him with a new idea for their business, what he calls a “What if…” call. The opportunity to discuss business opportunities and new projects and learn more about the business – that’s very rewarding to him. He enjoys exploring the options and putting together a great loan package to help customers improve or expand their business.

He also enjoys being involved in his community in other ways – as a member of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg and at First Baptist Church. Zac and his wife, Megan, have three children, and he enjoys traveling, watching sports, and playing golf. He’s also a member of the Emerging Leaders Council for the Arkansas Bankers Association.
